Let’s start my first blog post by saying that I’m grateful and happy that you chose to drop by, and hopefully, I manage to trigger your interest with the stories I want to share – now with the newly published book “Secrets of the Elementals” and others to come.
As I mentioned in my Bio, I’ve always loved movies and stories that take you on great adventures.
But, first of all, I should introduce myself. My name is Alexander Sotberg.
Born and raised in Trondheim, the delightful town in the middle of Norway, also called “trehusbyen”, roughly translated to “the wooden house town” because of its continuous wooden house establishment, which is the longest in the Nordic region (according to Wikipedia that is).
I studied economics at NTNU Business School while devoting much of my free time to football because of a distant dream of becoming a professional footballer. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance. I started working in a bank as a financial advisor while continuing to study part-time outside of work, which resulted in a master’s degree in innovation and change management.
Unfortunately, the dream of becoming a professional footballer became less and less likely as the years went by, but I loved football and playing for my local team and would not have been without it. But another dream began to reveal itself – the goal of publishing an adventure that I had worked on over the years, but writing a book is time-consuming, and quite frankly, I dedicated far too little time to this. Still, the desire never strayed too far from my thoughts.
Years went by, and I was lucky enough to be blessed with two adorable children, my boy, Maximilian, and my little princess (or considering how she rules us – the Queen), Nila. After my son was born, I got a newfound desire to write – or I was too tired to do anything else, and before I knew it, the first draft of “The Book” was complete. While my friends started to read it, I realized something. This book is way too graphic and much more suited for an older audience! My children wouldn’t be allowed to read it until they were much older. That same night I started on a new story, which would be suitable for both children and young people, and hopefully still interesting for adults.
These last couple of months, I’ve had the pleasure of working on the final details of the cover, and I’m very proud to inform you that the book “Secrets of the Elementals” (the first book in The Xanador Saga) is now available for purchase at Amazon.
I hope you all enjoy the story as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it and that you check in on this blog to see what I’m up to.
